Athletico Sports Foundation is a community-based sport CIO. We have over 200 young people on roll and 13 football teams of different ages and ability.
Over the last 4 years; since the COVID-19 Pandemic we have also been working with Bradford Council, Bradford Academy Secondary school and other organisations such as Street Games to support the most deprived young people and families in our area providing
- Essential food items
- Warm spaces for the vulnerable
- Health and diet-related assistance
- Other social services aspects such as signposting to welfare; benefits; debt advice or other multi-agency support.
Over 60% of our service users are eligible young people on Free School Meals (FSM), families and individuals including vulnerable people and refugees in financial crisis and over 30% are NEET.
Some families are almost at breaking point due to the sudden increase in the cost of living (bills, food purchase, fuel and rent) but we continue to support the individuals and families in dire need of the above services.
